Presets Library

The catalog of preset steps you can drop into a workflow.

Presets are the reusable steps that make up your workflows. Each one is a single question or check — “Did I confirm the trend?”, “Rate your confidence 1-10”, “What was your stop loss price?” — that becomes part of the form when you log a trade.

Flow ships with a built-in library across five categories. You can also create custom ones when the built-ins don't cover something you care about.

The five categories

Built-in presets are grouped to keep the library navigable.

Emotional / Psychology

Mental state checks. For catching FOMO, tilt, overconfidence, hesitation, and the other emotional patterns that derail trading.

Examples: FOMO Entry Check, Emotional State, Confidence Level, Revenge Trading, Tilt Assessment.

Technical

Chart and indicator analysis. For confirming setup quality, trend direction, support/resistance, indicator readings, and price-action quality.

Examples: Trend Direction, Support/Resistance, Volume Analysis, RSI Reading, Breakout Quality.

Risk

Position sizing, stop placement, and risk control. The discipline checks that keep you in the game over time.

Examples: Stop Loss Set, Position Size, Risk/Reward Ratio, Daily Loss Limit, Max Drawdown Check.

Journal

Post-trade reflection — what happened, what you'd do differently, what to remember. Mostly used in the Post-Trade phase.

Examples: Trade Rationale, Lessons Learned, Overall Grade, What Went Well, What Went Wrong.

Market

Broader market context — sentiment, news, sectors, related markets. Catches trades that look fine in isolation but bad in the wider picture.

Examples: Market Condition, SPY Trend, VIX Level, News Events, Earnings Season.

Custom presets you create are limited to Checkbox, Text, Number, Slider, and Radio — the other four are reserved for built-in presets.

Phases

Each preset belongs to one phase, or to all three.

Most presets are tagged with one of the three phases — Pre-Trade, Execution, or Post-Trade. They only appear in the library when you're adding to that phase. A handful are tagged all phases and show up regardless of which column you're adding from. The library handles this filtering automatically.

Using the library

The Add Step sheet inside Edge Builder is where you browse.

Type any part of a preset name to filter. Live as you type.

Category filter

Tap a category chip (All, Favorites, Emotional, Technical, Risk, Journal, Market) to narrow the list. Combined with search, this is usually how you find what you want fast.

Favorites

Click the star next to any preset to favorite it, then tap the Favorites filter to see only your starred set — useful if you have a small core you reach for repeatedly.

Adding and removing

Click a preset to add it to the current phase column. Already-added presets appear dimmed with a check mark — the same preset can't be added twice to the same phase.

To remove a preset from your workflow, click the X on the step in the canvas (not in the library sheet).

Custom presets

Build your own when nothing fits.

For things the built-ins don't cover, use the Create Custom Step button at the top of Edge Builder. Custom presets live in the same library, can be favorited, can be used in any workflow, and can be deleted later. See the Edge Builder docs for the field-by-field walkthrough.
